in Credit cards
Hello all,
I have read some articles on here as to why i can't get a credit card and i don't seem to fit in any of the categories.
I will be completely honest - to my knowledge.
I earn 20k per year
My missus earns 22k-24k per year
we had a loan of £16,200 for a new car over 3 years we have 1 year left @ £460 a month ish we needed £15000 the £1,2k is interest & 5.5%
We have a joint account all our money goes there. we also have our own accounts where we transfer ourselves £200.00 a month to spend on watever junk we like "free money" so to speak. We have a joint credit card with RBS that has £2000 on. we only pay minimum repayments its 0% and i wanted to transfer the balance to another 0% card but am unsuccesful in applying.
I do not have a mortgage.
We do run our account quite low each month after savings schemes etc come out.
I never miss a payment but do have debt as above.
The missus does not struggle to get accepted for cards its just me.
I thought about buying a credit reference but what actual use will it be to me, will it be in plain english or do you have to be an acountant to understand it.

Hello - When you say buying a credit reference, what exactly do you mean by this? how many cards have you applied for by they way?0

I spoke to the guys from sainsburys about why i couldn't get a card and they said i would need to buy my credit reference to find out why from a company called expedian i think it was called.
I have tried to get a Virgin card, a Sainsbury Card & a Natwest card.0 -
I was having this problem and have just come home to find a mastercard waiting for me...
It is through www.flybe.com and although I have a high apr - 24.9% I only wanted it for the 6 months 0% interest to transfer a £750 balance from a Virgin card where they just doubled my apr and also I get a free flight to Europe with any spend on the card! Worth a try0 -
Yes order a copy of your credit file from Experian so you can see the data they hold about you ( this is the information lenders look at when they make a decision on your application ) there could be some information reporting which is incorrect, i,e missed payments for example. That should be your starting point in any case, I will also leave it a few months but you apply for another card since you have applied for 3 in such a short space of time.0

I am pretty sure Experian do a 30 day free trial, so you might aswell have a look x

Yes we are both on the role.
if i get my credit reference can i actually influence the information if its wrong.0 -
if it is incorrect you can ask the company to adjust the information to reflect the truth..
