not sure if it is a good buy or not but thought may be usefull to someone on here, i am just getting into all this and loving it!!

Looks a good price, carole, tho not the best design.
It relies on pressure from inside the water butt to divert the water back into the downpipe when the butt is full.
A better design is a drop down/push up chute , tho not automatic. But it does mean you can 'switch' it off for butt cleaning.
None the less a good price, they more than that in Wilkinsons. Well spotted.

do you have an example of one of those, Ken68? It does sound like a good idea, but I have never seen one.

carole/seakay not the best design...realise the first flush orf the roof is best diverted to the downpipe.

D.I. Y'able would have thought, essentially a tee junction , closed at the end with a ball to seal it off.
