Help with cooking Conger Eel

Options
Has anyone any experience of cooking with this. I have bought 4 steaks of it for Friday night, and did a search on google where I have found cooking in cider.
I'll buy some in if this is the only way, but wondered if there were any suggestions.
There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.

  • My friend just said Rick Stein did something on seafood something or other.

She said chop it up, fry in garlic and butter. When meat has turned white, inside the skin. Take out pan.
Deglaze the pan with white wine ,1/2 pintish and a knob of butter for about 5 - 10 minutes.
Then put eel back in and reduce it abit

    HTH :)

Did he leave the skin on? Everything I'm reading says to skin before cooking.
