Has anyone received automated calls from MBNA?

i know this should relly be in the Credit card forum but I am an avid lurker of all you DFW diaries and know some of you have MBNA cards.

At work I have received about 3 calls from MBNA.

The automated voice says "Hello, this is a personalised call for Mrs xxxx xxxx, press any number to continue"
I thought first of all it might be one of these scam lines where you are paying for the call.

Has anyone else received them? Why can't they just write?:mad:

The last 2 times they have rung I have been on another call but can see the number holding?

Any ideas/suggestions gratefully accepted

    Others will be along with the official way to do this but that's harassment! you need to write and say only communicate in writing and I'm sure there are templates for this...

    It's not so much even the harssment side of it but are they legit?

    When I press to continue, is it a scam and my employer winds up paying 10 quid a minute which will not go down well!!!!

    Is this how MBNA operate?

  • Surely this is MBNA's approach to solving the 'silent calls' issue that people have complained about on these boards?
