CSA- Keeping records

Hi, we have just complained to the CSA and wondered if the CSA are legally obliged to keep records of old cases for any number of years? If so how long?

Thanks if you know the legal stuff :cool:

    they have to keep record of your whole case, if it hasnt had any breaks. Im not 100% but CSA only stared in 1993 so they have kept most records. I asked for a friend CSA data procetion and that went back to 93 and they still had that all on record. Is it your first time complianing?

    Under the Data Protection Act, they are not allowed to keep personal data for more than a "reasonable time", which is regarded by most government Departments to be up to six years.

    You are obliged to attain all data relevant to you from them;

    The Data Protection Officer
    Child Support Agency
    Room BP6002
    Benton Park View
    Newcastle Upon Tyne
    NE98 1YX

    No not the first time. The first time it was me and my ex and it went to a tribunal, this time it is my husband and his ex. I'm fed up with it all, I am now in middle of dealing with someone in complaints dept. I can't say too much as I don't know who reads this forum but his case goes back 8 years ago when it was kind of closed but I want them to find something in the records.
