    Hi Kitty,

Nothing about b/r at all in the new business rules, but did get this Tel no for a DWP staff help/support group. Its called Corecare and they offer private and confidential advice for DWP staff. The one that deals with legal and financial problems is 0800 652 3308. I don't know if they'll be able to answer your question but it may just be worth giving them a ring.

Sorry could'nt be of any futher help

  • Well after waying up all the advice, talking to my union rep at work and not sleeping for 3 nights I've decided what to do :j

    Drumroll please .................

    I'm going for the DMP

I know I'm looking at a long haul but I figure it's the better option for me. After talking to the rep I found that as my work includes dealing with my team budget then Bankruptcy wasn't a good option. So I called my manager and asked if I could bring forward my return date. She agreed!!
So as of 7th April I will be back in full time employment

It means a rejig of my budget, and probably CCCS will suggest a change to my payments, but I feel like I'm doing something positive towards paying back my debts.

Think I'll check out the DMP support thread next and perhaps boost my commitment by posting a diary.

I want to thank everyone who offered advice and why they made their decision. Fingers crossed I'm going the right way ;)

    Hi again.

Glad you've made a decision on what you feel is best for you. :) The right way is whatever you feel happiest doing. As you've seen, there is plenty of support here if you are on a DMP.

With the DMP you can always choose another option (like BR) a sometime in the future if you feel the need.

    Good luck.

Good luck and definitely come and say hello on the DMP support thread :)

If you pop up your SOA, we might be able to find ways to cut your bills more or maybe increase your income :)
