Firstly, its overdraft.
And secondly, there is no harm in asking. Its the only way to find out. Ring them up.0 -

If you have been given a £600 overdraft by your bank, then your limit is £600.
To say you have a 'good account' means that in their opinion you have handled your acount well, regular deposits/salary payments occur etc. and they are happy with you as a customer. The fact they offered you a credit card shows that. If you are concerned about running up debt, I can see why you declined the credit card, but for a lot of people a credit card (if handled correctly!) can help them make the most of their finances etc. Utilising the interest free period means you can leave cash in your bank to earn interest etc. but I guess you have to be disciplined in order to avoid getting into debt.
Sorry to hear about boyfriends job...hope it all works out

Overdrafts can go up to £10000 or more. All depends on your salary and credit rating.0 -
