I would not go by yourself if you dont know the pub or the area. Is there no one else who would go with you(even your mum?) even just for support!!

You have to remember the old "men are from mars" thing. They are different animals from us and cant usually think how we feel/react in the same way we do of them. I too think it would only take a few seconds to text, especially knowing you are annoyed. Try and no let it bother you(I know how hard that can be)and do your own thing, live your own life, make arrangements to see your friends and watch the reaction.
