Wedding Present Vouchers

Whats a reasonable amount to give as a gift when the couple have asked for vouchers??

Comments

  • Depends who you are and what kind of wedding it is. Most of the weddings i've been to recently (5 in the last year!) have been black tie/outer london and we've given 100 pounds.

On the plus side, all those people are invited to my wedding in June so we'll see some of it back :)

Now, i've got a wedding i'm missing in May.. it's not black tie and it's in Liverpool.. dunno what i'm going to give - probably 50 quid.

These figures may be well above what a lot of people give, but i'm told it's the 'right amount' for the types of weddings we've been to
  • Give what you can afford!

I'd give (as a single person) £25 or a bit more if they were close friends. As a couple maybe give £50?

At the end of the day you are attending their special day that's all that matters.

If you feel a bit stingy in giving your set amount (not that you should) then maybe you could club together with other friends/family/colleagues who are going and give it as a lump sum?

  • I would give £10 or £25 depending on how close friends they are :)

Hiya, I traveled to a wedding in Devon last summer by train. I did not want to carry a parcel, so asked friends for advice. I settled on a £30 gift voucher from Argos. I had explained to the bride if I came money would be tight as I was not working. The bride was just delighted I could come. She had several vouchers from Argos, so clubbed them together for a double bed of her choice. Another couple who were richer and could not come sent a cheque for £500. Just give acording to your means.... Best Wishes....Julie
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
