Firstly. I'd scrounge some of those plastic money bags and fill as many of them as you can with the standard amounts for each denomination of coin.The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

If the charity is local to you, they will accept the coins from you so no need to convert to notes. The charities I am involved in do! Failing that, follow Stephen's advice and get some money bags (they are usually free from high street banks) and bag the coins up.0

What is the chairty, as Sainsburys have those coin couting machines and having counted them you can either convert to notes (at a charge) or donate to a selected charity of your choice (assuming the charity the coins are for is on the machine) then just do it that way. I think, it prints you a receipt off which you post to the charity address to inform them of your donation, so to prevent any mishaps.Live for what tomorrow has to bring, not what yesterday has taken away0

Please don't use those machines in the supermarket.....they take 8% of the input!2014 Target;
To overpay CC by £1,000.
Overpayment to date : £310
2nd Purse Challenge:
£15.88 saved to date0 -
Some banks - ie Barclays in Woking - have these machines and there are no charges to pay into your account with them. Just tip all the money in and let the machine count it. No rip-off charges.0

Most banks, as long as you don't go in at lunchtime or other peak time, would take a charity donation from a child in coin-the restrictions they have on paying in coins don't apply to childrens accounts, and they are generally flexible about charity money too. To help them, having it bagged up would show you are doing your best0
