Hiya, just wondered have you tried a local care in the community company, the one I used to work for had a couple of student nurses on their books that would pick up extra work when they could ie if people were off sick or something but had no regular clients as they couldnt commit to the times, might be worth a try for some extra income.0

re. your mobile phone bill..
You might find that even though your contract runs till October that you can switch to a cheaper tariff a few months before that. Try calling your provider, they'll tell you when you're allowed to move to a cheaper one. You could probably knock £15 a month off your bill, even on a contract.0 -
Is a DMP the way to go with this or will they not help as a large chunk of the debt is secured (CSA & car loan)???Black Horse Finance - £4870.83, Council Tax Arrears [strike]£1012[/strike] £420, Simply Be Catalogue - £1263.49, Provident [strike]£2100[/strike] £645, Barclays Bank OD £754.57, Halifax OD £76.15, Asset Financial - £180.00, CCJ[strike]£1200[/strike] £1000 + others already cleared!!

:hello: Hi and welcome
The best thing for you to do is to contact CCCS and go through all the options etc with them. Google them and have a look at their website too as lots of info is on there. They will be able to advise on DMP IVA etc
Couple of things from your SOA .....
You have 2 cars and use a huge amount of petrol...... is there any way of managing with just the one ( I realise shift work etc may preclude this)
If not could you give back the one with the loan attatched and get a really cheap run around? What about lift sharing etc.
Other big thing to ask (sorry clueless about this one) is how much longer do you have to pay CSA for? Assuming I correctly read that child in question is 16 .......
Chin up though, you have done the hardest bit and you will get loads of advice and support on here!

:T ooooh what a productive day!!! Thanks for all your comments, I think I am finally getting my head around everything now. I have had various conversations with Payplan today and they are helping me set out an action plan and I have another appointment to speak to another adviser on Thursday.
I have spoken to a local agency and have sent off my CV for some more part time work - thanks MERFE!
Rob - Mobile phone they are not budging on changing the tariff, however going to call them back in a bit as the man I spoke to was VERY unhelpful
Cat - Cars and petrol are both a nightmare!! I have to travel approx 60 miles a day to uni and OH's job is in a different direction so I cant even drop in off on the way. We are very limited on public transport and if I took the train and bus to uni it would increase by £20p/w. As for CSA - don't know, he is now 16 but as we have no access to him we don't know if he is staying on education or not and the £7k arrears they want paid off within 2 years.
Thanks again for all the support x x :beer:Black Horse Finance - £4870.83, Council Tax Arrears [strike]£1012[/strike] £420, Simply Be Catalogue - £1263.49, Provident [strike]£2100[/strike] £645, Barclays Bank OD £754.57, Halifax OD £76.15, Asset Financial - £180.00, CCJ[strike]£1200[/strike] £1000 + others already cleared!!

Have you sat in front of the council tax guys? I owe £1900 and offered £10 per week, which they declined over the phone, the chap was very unpleasant and just would not budge. I got off the phone and went straight round to the office and told them why I had got into problems and what I was trying to do to sort it out. They were very understanding, and we agreed to set the repayments at £12.50 per week by standing order. Wasnt bad considering half an hour earlier they had wanted it in full before the next CT bill!0

Also, can you carshare with a fellow student? One day you drive, one day they drive etc.0

Everything with council tax was taken out of our hands when they applied for the attachment to earnings order - can I still negotiate a payment amount if it has gone this far?
Can't car share really as it is so varied as to when I am at uni and at the hospital on placement and unfortunately none of us are placed the same!Black Horse Finance - £4870.83, Council Tax Arrears [strike]£1012[/strike] £420, Simply Be Catalogue - £1263.49, Provident [strike]£2100[/strike] £645, Barclays Bank OD £754.57, Halifax OD £76.15, Asset Financial - £180.00, CCJ[strike]£1200[/strike] £1000 + others already cleared!!
