42" Plasma with Speakers & Stand - Under £900!

Spotted this one at ebuyer. Comes with speakers and a stand, which alot of these sub-£1000 ones don't.
Made by HiSense, who apparently have a decent reputation as an OEM producer.
The resolution is fairly low though, and hence is not HD-Ready (doesn't have any digital inputs).
But, a decent budget choice if size is important (my missus keeps telling me it is! :rotfl: )

It doesn't get great reviews, you might be better off spending slightly more on a Samsung...

At this price point I would still buy the 32" Hitachi that I have at home

It has an HDTV compatible DVI input (with HDCP) and looks great.0 -
Has your Hitachi got a DVI input? as the plasma that you linked to does not list DVI in the spec.
A word of warning to anyone considering the Hitachi - the website is, in my opinion, mis-selling the display...it states the display is "High Definition Ready" - however, the display is NOT qualified to carry the "HD Ready" certification / logo, since the display resolution is too low (and, if it does not have DVI, that is missing also).
You can however find true HD Ready LCD TVs for around the same price and less (some of which I have seen posted on this forum before).0 -
Yes it has DVI with HDCP and a vertical resolution of 1024 lines so it is basically HDTV compatible. I can run the screen from my Samsung DVD player via an HDMI to DVI cable at 1080i or 720p. I also have it connected via a high quality component video cable but the DVI connection is far superior (a bit like going from UHF to a decent RGB SCART connection).
There is some discussion on AvForums as to weather the Hitachi is truely HDTV compliant. Personally, I think it's a bit of an academic argument. I'm very happy with it.0 -

Shows what a good company Ebuyer are that they give you a link to a review that's not very favourable. Normally a company would edit the review so it looked really good0
