What is the difference between...

Options
...lettuce and cabbage. I usually put cabbage in stew but I saw some reduced lettuce so bought that (for 12p) and I plan to chop it up and use it instead of the cabbage.

Have I saved money or gone mad?
Regards

I've never put lettuce in a stew but I have used it in stir fry, tasted quite nice but it was really just warmed through, not really "cooked".

I don't know what is sadder, the fact there is a lettuce website or the fact you knew where it was.

Sorry I just had to say that.

Thanks for that link though. I have had a look and stew isn't something anyone else seems to try. I'll give it a go but chop up the lettuce very small.
    Regards

Lettuce is more of a salad thing...cabbage is more of a cooked dinner thing...

Although saying that, i put cabbage in my salads sometimes and its quite yummy - Stays harder than lettuce that can go soggy!

Well, you can make soup out of lettuce, so adding more veg and stuff like a stew, just makes it a chunky soup :D

Well, I hate cabbage, so I'd use lettuce!
