Remploy have a traditional image of being factories where disabled people work in a supportive environment and it's these factories that are under the spotlight at the moment, with some of them having closed or being scheduled for closure. They do, however, have another string to their bow, which is helping people with complex barriers to employment to find and sustain employment with "ordinary" employers.

Have a look at their website where there's information about what they do. I would say it's worth attending your appointment and finding out what they can offer you - you can always say "no thanks" if you decide their services are not for you.

I've attended a few conferences last year and Remploy fearured heavily in some of the discussions. As others have indicated do your homework first as their was some comcern being raised concerning the future structuring of Remploy.

I have friends who work for them, and apart from the uncertainty over their future they seem very happy there! 'Our' factory isn't being closed, thankfully.
