Reclaiming PPI on a DMP debt

Hi all

Longtime lurker and (very) occasional poster here. I've been on a DMP with the CCCS for the last six months (thanks, in no small part, to the ace advice and info I gleaned from this board). It has all been running fairly smoothly thus far - all bar one of my creditors accepted the plan and most have now frozen interest. One of my debts was an Egg unsecured personal loan, which I was pretty much pressured into taking PPI on when I applied for it. Having read Martin's article regarding PPI, I think I have grounds to claim it back - it would bring my DFD forward by reducing the amount owed on that loan and also freeing up some cash to chuck at my remaining debts.

My question is this - can I still claim this despite being on reduced payments for it? Has anyone else done similar? Like I said, my DMP has been relatively trouble-free thus far and I'd like that to continue but I'd also like to reclaim the PPI I never wanted to take in the first place...

Any thoughts/ opinions much appreciated

Hiya - I have done as the ppi will repay about 75% of my debts if I get it back so I figured its worth the risk. All referred to ombudsman at present but there are delays dealing with these cases due to the number they are receiving but so far no creditors have taken me off dmp and charged interest again so fingers crossed.
