Hi All!
I dont post very often, so please do not shoot me if I have got this wrong or posted in the wrong place! I have been looking for an Xbox 360 bundle for my sons birthday and have come across a deal at Woolworths. I don't know a lot about these consoles, but know that he wants to go on the internet, have a headset and play against people and really wants the game Halo 3.
I have been looking all over and I have seen a deal on Woolworths site that has Xbox 360 + Forza 2, Fifa 08, Harry Potter and Halo 3 for £289.99.
Could some kind person check it out for me and see if it does what I need and whether it is a good deal or not? These are so many different Xbox consoles types and bundles and I think this is a good one for the price, but I would just like to make sure before I order it!
There is quidco available (2%) and I can arrange to have it sent to my local store so no P+P.
Sorry I do not know how to do links !
Thanks for your help and comments!

Thanks for the quick reply and thank you for looking! Yes that is the one! There is a banner on the site whereby if you buy that package, you can add Halo 3 to your basket for £10? It is valid to 28th Feb. I have tried it and it does work. Is it any good?

I've had a look .And the description is not very helpfull .
There are a variety of xbox 360's from the arcade up to the ultimate .
it mentions a hard drive ..But doesn't state the size or whether it is on board .
It may be worth phoning up or going in store to see what it says on the box .
if you are planning on going on line you will need x box live
The cheapest place I have found this is here
http://www.boxeddeal.com/index.php?currency=GBP&main_page=product_info&products_id=209
They will e-mail you the serial number ..At present £26.45 for 13 months
Seems OK ..But if you are woried ..Then buy elsewhere...about £35.00
I got mine from Play.com ..4% Quidco ..And there may be a student discount code around for another 5% discount. There are not many on the site at the moment.0 -
It's a standard 20GB Xbox 360 (called Premium/Pro by nearly everyone except Microsoft!!)
If you were to assemble this bundle, it would cost you approx £322 if you bought everything on the High Street or from mainstream retailers.
£322 =
£240 Xbox 360 Premium/Pro (Argos)
£10 Forza 2 (Argos)
£20 Harry Potter (Argos)
£25 Halo 3 (John Lewis)
£27 Fifa 08 (HMV)
As you're getting 4 games for £50, that's not a bad deal at the moment.
There are THREE Xbox 360 models: Arcade (No HDD, no headset), Xbox 360 (often called Premium or Pro - has 20GB HDD and headset) and Elite (120GB HDD, black case and other stuff). You might find a 'Halo 3 edition' as well, but that would be old stock.
One thing that struck me is how much they've gone UP by since Christmas. I bought a 'Premium' bundle with Viva Pinata and Forza 2 in December for £205 :eek:British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
I think it does exactly what I need then! :j I think I am going to order it and with using quidco I can get it for £284.99 with free collection from store. Looks like a decent £40 saving then!
Thanks for the info on xbox live too! I believe he will get an automatic 1 month free trial with his new system, and then he can buy his own subscription using any birthday money he gets ! I will investigate the best deals on that then!
:T :T :T :T
Thank you! I have got to the stage where I am frightened to buy anything now without checking on here first!

For a second wireless controller, go here:
http://www.dvd.co.uk/Games/Xbox-360-Wireless-Controller-Xbox-360/MS22415/product.htm
or, for 'mums own controller', here:
http://www.dvd.co.uk/GHw/Wireless-Controller-Pink-Xbox-360/MS08964/product.htm
You will not beat that price. There's delivery on top (making it £22.98), but still less than anywhere else.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
I want that one !!!!:j :j :j Cant see his mates wanting to use it when they come round !!:rotfl:0

My brother got an Xbox Elite Fifa Pro Street, Forza 2, Viva Piniatta (sp) and an extra wireless controller for £309 :T from Game.
I think they have made a mistake but he has it and its a great deal.0
