  • I created a website for my daughter's wedding because it's abroad and I wanted to give guests lots of information. I put the website address on the wedding invitations and I update it with information about flights, accommodation etc. I used a freewebs template. I'll pm you the address of my website so that you can have a browse at it. It needn't become public knowledge because you don't put it on a search engine so only those who are given the details can look at it. It was free.

Can you link in a webcam for those family members not able to attend, I went to a wedding recently where the ceremony was transmitted live over the net for invited people to watch.
  • We have one with https://www.weddingannouncer.com as they seemed to have the most options for their free site, iykwim. Very happy with it.
  • I have wondered how to set up live streaming on webcam to multiple recipients.. i've previously had so use a computer as a server then wrote my own flash streaming website.. there's got to be an easier way though
  • Ours is www.230509.co.uk, we bought the domain from Lycos and used a spare blog account ( we met through our blogs) my other half had. It's very sparse at the moment and pages with the venue etc will be password protected. Speaking of venue, that's the reason why there is a library catalogue card there, we're not getting married in a library (bit of a busman's holiday when you are a librarian even if I don't work in a traditional one), it's just that it's book-related. And we're geeks.
Got married 23rd May 2009, many thanks to all on the Weddings and Anniversaries board for their help and support!
  • i would also recommend weddingpath.co.uk. also the girls on there are really freindly and full of good advice.
  • I once saw a wedding broadcast live on http://www.justin.tv/ They had it set up nicely here http://www.justin.tv/adamandjamieca , seems quite easy and great if you have people who can't make it! :) You can embed the live stream onto any website too.
