Books invading my house

My OH and I are both book hoarders, and we both know we have a problem! To contain it, we have one room in the house where all walls are lined with bookshelves top to bottom. We call it the library, although it doubles as the guest room. We are allowed to have as many books as fit in our library. If we buy more, some old ones have to go. Any books found elsewhere in the house are moved/cleared away to our library. The good thing is that if I am looking for a book, it is easily found. Guests like to browse and find something to read while they stay with us. If it is fiction, they are allowed to keep the book when they leave, if they haven't finished it. That thins it out a little as well - although others tend to leave books behind they brought with them!
But the system seems to work well, we don't stumble over piles, boxes and scattered books anymore since we've agreed they all have to be in one place."Remember that many of the things you have now you could once only dream of" - Epicurus0 -
I use www.readitswapit.co.uk and it is brilliant, I hardly ever buy books now so very moneysaving and it prevents your books taking over the house as each new one you get means you have sent one off to swap. Of course if the whole house is taken over you may have to persuade your husband to get rid of a few first!0
