Haribo beat me too it, where did you spring from?

Was going to say, some of the links, especially the recipes, might not work, but will give you an idea of what can be cooked and sure someone will have a recipe for them somewhere.
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb

I think a SC is a great buy - I don;t use mine loads but it's fab for getting on with a casserole and leaving the rest of my kitchen free for cooking other stuff. Right now I am cooking a casserole that will be portioned and frozen for future use, using cheap reduced meat. Really, it's great as you can leave it in the morning and by dinnertime the meal will be ready for your OH to serve up.

I love my slow cooker - i do soup, lots of casseroles, chicken, pork, sausage etc. Also do sweet and sour pork chops and veg. Chilli, bolognaise sauce, Gammon joint, chicken thighs etc.

Only had it a few weeks and have been using it 3-4 times a week.

We work full time so the night before I chop the veg and meat and keep in the fridge ready. In the morning, chuck in slow cooker, pour over sauce/stock/passata or jar of sauce ;) Switch on low, leave for about 8 hours or more. Come home and dinner is ready to dish up. Plus if anyone wants seconds, they are still keeping warm in the slow cooker ;)

Best gadget in our kitchen ;)

I bought a cookworks slowcooker for £8.99 a couple of weeks ago, ahve used it 3 times and love it!
I dont really need a bigger one as it's only me and my DS who is 3.5 so whatever i make gets halved and frozen anyway.

Don't know what your budget is but I got a 3-in-1 slow cooker, rice cooker and steamer for my birthday and LOVE using all three functions. I use the rice cooker function to make risotto, some pasta dishes and quick stews.

Yes, they do them in Merry Christmas too, but I thought the multi coloured changing Bah Humbug ones were funny! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Re my SC - I bought one for Mum a few years ago and when I moved out I 'borrowed' it to have a play. She's not getting it back! It's so useful to put on when I go out to work and it's ready when I get home. It's not the most amazing spectacular object in the world, but it's mighty useful for casseroles etc! I've used mine once a week on average.

    Catt xx
  • I use our slow cooker about once a week for a casserole. Our favourite at the moment is lamb shanks but I've just bought some oxtail, I've never cooked it before so I'm looking forward to having a go with it
