Hi all.I had my lightbulb moment yesterday and sat up most of the night with my partner going over the finances. The upshot of which was we realised we are in deep and I need to earn extra money if we have any chance of getting our debts under control.
I have worked out we need another £660 a month to both meet existing commitments and a little extra so that we dont have to use credit for birthday pressies etc again.
My target is £152(or about 30 lots of a fiver) a week clear and I simply have to do it.
If its okay I would like to use this thread to post my ideas for making the money and to help keep myself on track and motivated.
I will use my signature to keep tally.

Right,I dont want to work at night or weekend because of the family and I need to walk the dogs during the day too so will look at self-employment.
I already sell some bits on ebay and love doing that so I will increase that.
I need to spend more time making money and less time doing housework.
I will look through the threads and will try everything, except bingo,I dont agree with gambling.
I have no money to use for stock so will look at dropshipping opportunities only.
I need to improve my computer skills if I want to run a business online so I will look at free courses locally.
I will look for free business courses too, short ones or easy guides or something.
If I get something part-time at tesco I could get a discount on food, thats worth more thought as that would both up the income and reduce the expenditure.A double whammy.0 -
how about walking somebody elses dog why you are doing yours0

I just sell bits and pieces I dont use or want anymore.Mostly kids clothes, some new shoes and boots I bought but have never worn, the boxed perfume sets I got for xmas:o
I have a Radley laptop bag I am seriously thinking of selling but dont know whether my partner would be upset at that as he bought it as a xmas pressie 3 years ago.
I have not had time to look at dropshipping yet,I just know I dont have money for stock so that would be my only option. Why dont you just google it and see what you get.if you find any suppliers let me know too please:D0 -
I don't have any words of wisdom that I can give you - but I do know you are in the right place!
I would like to say well done for just getting on with it and not just sitting there panicking. Counting up your debt and realising exactly the situation you are in takes a lot of courage, and it sounds to me like you have your head screwed on!
I wish you the best of luck! And I'll keep an eye on you thread to see how you are getting on :-)

Just a word about the Tesco job and discount. I used to work for Tesco and unless they have changed their policy in the last 1 1/2 years, I think you have to have worked there for a year before they give you staff discount. If Tesco have changed or if it was just my store, please, someone, say otherwise.
Plus side - I was working on tills so could see what discounted items were in store at the time. If a friend or family member was in store, they could come up to my till (if I weren't too busy) and could tell them to quickly go to whatever aisle before the discounted items were snapped up. My family had some great bargins.
Also, if you come up with some great moneymaking ideas, let me know.
