Hi Daddy & MummyMoo
Welcome
It's amazing isn't it? I've saved so much money & changed the way I feel about it too, I've taken control & know where every penny goes, I've discovered ways of getting extra money, I didn't know about using quidco for example to purchase my car insurance got £130 cashback & free greenflag & it was cheaper than other companies!
You will realise that EVERY single £1 or £2 here & there counts & by just cutting out buying a takeaway here or there or walking to save petrol/parking you can completely change your life.
I've got so much I could say about this site I'd be here all day!!
It's fantastic, the people are fantastic, you won't be judged & we are mostly in the same boat.
So get reading, if you don't want to post your SOA ( statement of affairs ) just peak at others on here I'm sure you'll be able to see where you can also slice a few £££s off here & there - Have Fun:TComping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

 Hi and welcome. There are loads of ways of making money such as working extra hours, stoozing, matched betting (not for the faint hearted see Southernscousers thread re this) and just generally cutting back.
The main thing is go with what you are most comfortable 1st as that will be easiest to stick to.
As for forum etiquette well there is only really one rule and that is to be nice, don't worry about asking questions and just remember that if you think you are asking a daft question you can be sure someone will have asked a dafter one.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0 -
Just wanted to say that even though you are new to this i think it's lovely you took the time to reply to reply to another thread and offer support. Well done! take your time and come overe when you can, there's always someone about to offer help. Well done on joining and start asking daft questions soon

Welcome!
I didn't think it could be done either but since joining MSE I have learned so many ways that I was throwing my money away or just not making the most of what I had. Plus I didn't realise there were so many ways out there to make extra money (i'm still learning this - free bingo anyone??)
Try posting your SOA and the clever folks on here will be long to give you a nudge in the right direction!0 -
Hi Daddy and Mummy Moo
Ive only been on here 2 weeks and already ive saved about £15 in my sealed pot challenge (i know its supposed to be guess work but i counted it last week)
And ive managed to make £4 on pigsback and reduce my electricity bill by £16 a month too.
All from the advice of the other lovely people on here trust me im always asking silly q's too and everyone just directs you to the best people or place to find the answers

Hi there, and welcome to mse! I love your names, by the way, they're sweet.
Usually, people start by cutting down and cutting out expenditure - less expensive media packages, better ways of paying for things, cheaper financing, cashback, all sorts of things - check out the beginnings of threads for that level of work.
Then its about examining every part of your expenditure - the voluntary spending, everything from spending too much on presents to the cup of coffee you used to buy every day.
Then... ta-da! ..... its about finding extra income. At first, I found quite little ways - surveys, clicks, that kind of thing. Then I started selling books & CDs on Amazon - still haven't got to other stuff on ebay or Auctiva or preloved, I've got that yet to come!. Recently, tho, I've been doing risk-free bingo, matched betting, mystery shopping - just on that, I'm looking at nearly a thousand pounds now, and I've got more yet to do on the cashback deals that are available.
The repayments - like mine, thousands since 1st December - that includes the regular repayments, as well as extras. Just thought you should know that! It takes a while to build up to it, tho, just keep going, there's a lot of support on here, as other people have said.
Good luck, keep posting.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
