Yes they do, I noticed them on Saturday morning. It is a pack with alarm controls, bell box, sensors etc. Can't tell you what make it is but knowing Costco it will be a quality one. If it isn't then Costco's return policy means you just take it back!

I know this is a bit off topic but is it possible to become a Costco member without running a business? I've just looked at their website and it seems to refer to Members and Trade Members. Can I become just a Member?

Coffee beans. 1 Kg bags for under a fiver.

The Kirkland coffee is Starbucks coffee as well, so you save huge amounts - we buy 2 big bags (one normal and one decaf), mix them and store in a 4L Lock&Lock tub (with some left over for use over the next few weeks).

    The steaks are fantastic too.

A few years ago, I bought some Original Wayfarer Raybans from the opticians there, and paid £70. They were £150 in the shops.

The Kirkland Cat Maintenance Biscuits are preferred by my cats to Iams as well, and work out much cheaper too, I reckon about 25% of the price for something that is virtually identical.

Calpol is good value from them if you have trade membership - not sure of the pricing though.

I used to be a standard member - you have to be an employee of particular companies/organisations, have a particular profession, or a member of a particular trade organisation. I was able to join as I work for a large american company and my Dad was able to join as he is a chartered accountant. My mum could have joined in her own name as she works in local government. If you phone up your local Costco warehouse, they will be able to tell you what the criteria are for standard membership.

I've got a trade membership card now as my DP is self employed, so I let my standard membership lapse.

Too late for you, but may help someone else... When I converted from personal to trade membership I asked them what I should do with my 11-month-old personal membership. I expected to just let it lapse, but they gave me a full refund on the membership even though it only had 1 month to go.

To the question about personal membership the list includes Local Government employees, Banking and Finance employees, Education employees, Emergency Services employees, NHS employees, Professional employees (Opticians, Solicitors, Engineers etc) and employees of selected large companies e.g. BT.

Trade membership requirements are clear - http://www.costco.co.uk/Membership_home/Trade_memship/trade_membership.htm
If you can provide the relevant ID you are in. Another way in is for someone who is a trade member to add you to their account.

I agree it is confusing that personal membership isn't listed on the website.
