£50 Digi Cam

Hi I've never done this before so apologies if this is somewhere else.
My 11 yr old wants a digital camera for Christmas. Does anyone know if you can get anything suitable for around £50

probably, but the quality would be poor.
i got an aiptek one from lidl about a year or so ago for about £80. supposed to be 3mega pixels, but actually 2 interpolated to 3. i don't rate it at all, although my 8 yr old uses it and occasionally gets a nice pic. focus isn't great, and misses altogether sometimes.

having said that, they've come down in price drastically since then, and you might actually get something reasonable for £50 now.

could some other present buyers club together and give him money to get one in the xmas sales?

sorry to sound negative, but i wish someone had told me not to buy my £80 one!

Woolies are selling the FUji Q1 for ~£50 + P&P, don't no much about it, but the one review on Amazon rates it highly.

Wow thanks for your help, this is such a cool site. I have checked out the Woolies camera and it looks quite good. Have also heard a rumour that Tradex are selling £50 digicams in their stores on Thursday 4th & Friday 5th November so I will check out those as well and do a bit more homework. :-*

Just checked my local store and they have loads on the shelf at £50. No mention of the free 16mb XD card that the website refers to, but after delivery it’s only about a £4 saving. I need a larger card anyway.

Hi, have just been on Woolies website to order Fuji digicam. They have a 10% off day, so they are now down to £44.99 - bargain decided to order two so my other daughter can have one aswell.

It’s a great camera for the money. It doesn’t have a vast amount of features or an optical zoom (4x digital only) but the picture quality is astounding for such a price. It also has a nice build quality.

Quality snaps and a nice video mode… well worth the money
