Irish Tax On Uk Dividend Income

in Cutting tax
An Irish resident (Southern Ireland), is receiving a dividend from a UK company. His tax situation results with him being liable to Irish Tax on his worldwide income. If say the UK dividend was £9,000 with an associated tax credit of £1,000, what is taxable on his Irish tax return? Is it:
1/ £9,000 at say 20% Irish Tax if a lower rate taxpayer/42% if a higher rate taxpayer
or
2/£10,000 at say 20% or 42% with the resulting liability being reduced by the deemed 10% UK tax credit?
Hope this makes sense.
Also, as he is a non uk resident/ non uk ordinarily resident/non uk domiciled, I presume that the UK dividend does not have to be declared on his UK tax return?
Any help would be great.
Cheers
