Multicooker

My slow cooker's on its last legs, and I've decided I want to replace it with a multi-cooker, as I think that would be much more versatile. I've never liked using the slow cooker without browning the meat & veg, but it's such a waste using a separate pan - it would be much better to be able to do it in the same thing. I've found 6 different ones, and would be grateful for opinions.
Remoska
Bravoska
Prestige Multicooker
Prestige Cook and Serve (not sure what the difference between these two is, apart from the fact that the second one's got a glass lid)
Palson
Tefal (I've got a feeling this one's been discontinued, as I've only found it on a couple of sites, and they all seem to be out of stock).
Ideally, I'd like to be able to fry, braise, stew/casserole, bake and roast in it. I also want it to be easy to clean, preferably in the dishwasher. It seems that you can do that with the Bravoska and the Prestige C&S, but I don't know about the others. Does anyone know how economical these are? Some seem to be up to 1500W, but I can't tell if they use that all the time, or only in 'oven' mode and therefore might use less in 'slow cooker' mode.
TIA

i have the bravoska - its fab, cant recommend it enough - i havent yet found a recipe yet that doesnt cook well in it. Chips are crispy, chicken is moist just for example.
i chose it over the remoska because of its look
you can put the whole set up (excluding the lead) into the dishwasher
i am not clued up on how economical these are but i have read in camping forums that they are very economical.Give blood - its free0 -
<H1>Elitech 1300w convection oven
We bought one off the above, it is fantastic considering we paid £16 inc p&p off speedauctiontv. Can't comment on long term viability as we only had it 3 weeks. No recipe book with it as a rule of thumb knock a third off normal cooking times.

Apologies for delay in replying to this, and thanks for the help.
In the meantime, I emailed Prestige - apparently the two are almost the same, apart from the Cook & Serve having a steamer rack.
That sounds like an excellent price. Hadn't seen that before. Do you know what the wattage on this is? Does it just replace an oven, or can you also fry & stew in it too?0 -
Hi
I recently brought a Elitec oven, but where it says reference to cooking but is that per item or multiples of? does any one know.
i have put 4 jacket potatoes in for 15 min but still rock hard?
thanks0 -
We bought an Elitech 1300w cooker. We swear by it to such a degree that our convential oven is never used.
We cook chicken (70 minutes @ 180deg) on the top shelf with Potatoes on the lower .
Potato wedges, cut Potatoes into four wedges and cook for 10-15 minutes.
Bread(now we are talking) we use our Breadmaker to mix the dough, ( Bacon, Potatoes and Onion). Then tip it into a cake tin( the type that open up and the bottom falls out) and bake for 15 minutes, remove and flip the bread and bake again for 15 minutes @ 180 deg.
Jacket Potatoes, stab(won't let me type P rick)skin and cook for 20 -30 minutes @ 250Deg0 -
We have a Ramoska and a Bravoska.
Both very good but if we had to chose between them the Bravoska would win. (More versatile)I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -

Did you ever get one? If so how's it going?
I've just bought one of these http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4201991/c_1/1%7Ccat_12108409%7CSmall+kitchen+appliances%7C12108488/Trail/searchtext%3EMULIT.htm
it was expensive but I'm planning on getting A LOT of use out of it!
Does anyone have any good recipes which would be suitable?0
