Who exactly is meant to benefit from getting rid of the 10 Per cent income band rate and the cut in the 22% rate?

Well, it sure ain't those on low or fixed incomes - I dunno, those who might donate to the Labour party?

Average wage in the UK is about 26k I think, depends where you live and what you do. I haven;t earned less than 18k for years.
How come you call yourself skint then?

All the govt have done for me is go on about how going to univ should make you have a good income, that wasn't true, and so they make you have tons of debt and now they tax you more. So for young childless people they have done nothing.

Phil can you hear that ?????

Its the smallest orchestra of violins playing especially for you

Stop moaning your lot in life and get on with it, lifes for the making, I know people who have been 'charmed' from birth who are successful, and people who have dragged themselves out of the gutter to be a success in their chosen field.

Balls in your court Phil, what are you going to do to escape a life of mediocrity ?

I can remember Jack Schidt of my uni days. I studied applied biology which I have never used since. I can earn well over 100K in a year. You just have to use your brain

Well, Phil, they don't do anything for older, childless people either.........but, at least, due to being funded, you now have the ability to make use of your education and work your way up the pay scale.

  • My husband earns 14000 and I earn 12000, so we are looking at a double whammy. We only just manage now, there seems to be no sense in the new taxation, we are on lower than the nat average wage yet we will pay more tax, the world has gone mad.

Yes, we will too - although we are both medically retired, the new tax changes will mean that we will pay more tax than we do now on our private pensions.

Must be the new way - those on benefits and private pensions, along with those on low wages, subsidise the wealthy and the well-paid workers, instead of the other way round - sort of Robin Hood in reverse.........

    Still, what can you do?

    Lin
