...and then theres also writing a letter stating exactly what you think of them in no uncertain terms.......errr.....also speaking from experience (BUT PLEASE DONT ACTUALLY SEND IT!).......errrr......could be that I'm also speaking from experience:o

Have you a food mixer? It's easier if you have, but no matter if you don't. I'd try an "all-in-one" cake. You can mix everything using a wooden spoon. Delia's recipe is good; make 2 cakes and have one for later. I'd ice with water icing (icing sugar and a splash of water - you really don't need much). Cover the cooled cake with this and decoarate with silver balls. Or you could roll out your fondant, use the base of the cake tin to cut a piece to cover the cake. However, that stuff tastes like cakkk, so will taint the flavour of your fresh HM cake.

If it was geometrically possible, I'd give you lot 20 out of 10 for cheering me up. :T :T :T
Squeaky - Sir, Yes Sir!!
Penelope Penguin - I HAD a food mixer but she's leaving me :rotfl: As for the word "cakk", top marks.
Ceridwen - throwing bottles after drinking the contents? And to think I thought Squeaky was frightening
Katiecoodle - what a fab cake. If I took that in to work, they'd all wonder where I stole it from
Morwenna - I'm seeing you in a different light now. Women, tchh, should've listened to my dad. (real irony there, I'm not joking. You had to be in the church on my wedding day to believe it. And he wasn't  ) And yes, I have a roasting tin. Could I put the sponge in with the roast and save gas?
Whatatwit - how did you guess? I rather smugly thought I'd coined a new abbreviation
Actually, I've just had a thought. Could I grate the icing and have it on toast? (back to yellow snow again)
Thanks all.

And it speaks volumes that nobody picked up on that lot. Sort of a "5 course meal in a cake" :rotfl:
Alka-Seltzers anyone??

You could put the sponge in with the roast...not in the same tin ideally

Hi Benthosboy,
You're in luck! There was a thread a couple of days ago on what to do with fondant icing so I've added your thread to it to keep all the suggestions together.
