Clearing Credit History

Any of you guys know anything about the companies out there who claim they can clear your credit history if you have bad credit ??

Was speaking to friends in Mallusk, and they were saying that they spoke to a company who charged 75 quid and cleared your credit history. They guarenteed it would work and said they would refund your money if it didnt.

But I've been hearing conficting reports about whether they actually work or not, so just thought I'd ask if anyone had any experience.

Your post makes me quite nervous. There are ways you can clear unfair or incorrect items from your history but what you are suggesting sounds like an illegal activity.

I'd be skeptical, especially if it turned out to be less than legal (read: illegal) and future lenders found out.

My philosophy is that if it sounds too good to be true it usually is....

I'd say have a look on the debt free wannabe board about this - if I remember right the advice is that these don't work but best to check and be sure...

No, they do not work. Please don't waste your money. All they tell you is information which is already in the public domain. They will not clear your credit report for you.

If you have any defaults or CCJ's post the details of them and we can help with trying to get your credit report tidied up as much as possible.

If you feel they have been put on your report incorrectly, then there are procedures you can follow to try to get them removed.
