I haven't this time and in the past I have, but with the proviso that sometimes the debt has been run up thro' unfortunate circumstances such as business failure or whatever and was beyond the poster's control.

Now, I am not saying that your debt has been run up recklessly, Kazzaj, I do not know what happened....but where debt has been run up recklessly and people try to wriggle out of their responsibility to repay it, then it really does get up some peoples' noses, including mine, because some people, including me, work hard for a low wage and really struggle just to make ends meet. Then when we see people having all the material stuff they want, holidays, flashy cars, nights out, all on credit, and then try to get out of paying for it....well, it makes me sick.

But, as I said, I know nothing about how you got into debt....I am just responding to the point that you made!

Have to say, though, that a four bedroomed bungalow sounds quite flash to me!

    No offence intended.

lol, it might sound flash, but I can assure you that its not anything like flash!! It was 2 beds when we bought it and we have extended to give the kids a room each as they were not big enough rooms to be able to share and with an age gap of 8 years, that would hardly be fair anyway!! No offence taken!!

The debts we have have not been run up on an expensive wardrobe and I dont have 100 pairs of shoes or anything, its just been a case of robbing peter to pay paul. Its been really stressful, mostly because I tried to deal with it myself for a long time because i didnt want my husband to know what a mess i was making of things. It has made me quite poorly, especially over recent months. It is almost sorted now, and I have certainly learnt from it. Ultimately, my marriage, my home and my kids future was at risk. Its been a dark time but hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel.
    xx
