I always save bits of broccolli even if not very much, plus I also save the stalks. the stalks make a lovely broccoli soup with philadelphia type cheese and oatmeal (see Delia's Christmas book for recipe) but it needs just a few florets to give it a nice speckled look when you whizz it in the food processorIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

If you have some puff pastry in the freezer and some curry sauce how about curry puffs. Make them up as you would pasties but a bit smaller, just cut up veg and potatoes and mix in small amount of curry sauce and then put spoonful of mix onto circles of puff pastry (could use shortcrust pastry if preferred) then fold over and seal edges and bake. Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.
