Hi
Just a thought how many people out there are paying way too much for water bills.
My mum was on a bill and i told her to get a meter and she more than halved the money she was paying.
Not everyone knows you can try out the meter and if you don't save money or your not happy you can change back within the year.
Just a thought

Gas and Leccy PAYG meters are a rip-off too. I have to have them because I'm a Couincil tenant and my leccy costs £30 pw at least.:T The best things in life are FREE! :T0

We had a water meter put in many mnay years ago so we could legally use our hosepipe (some bizarre idea thought up by our water authority instead of a £50 p.a. charge). It was brilliant, we saved from day one. At the time we had two very young children and our water usage was quite high, however we were still better off with the meter. I'm very happy about having one and wouldn't want to go back.0

I changed to water meter, brilliant, halved my yearly bill and I don't skimp.
I was a bit worried at first but they said if I was'nt happy I could change back in the first year.0 -
Is it just me who thinks that once they've got most people on a meter it actually then won't be cheaper?
I object to paying for water, like I would object for paying for air. I don't mind paying to have it clean & delivered to my house, but I just find the idea of paying for actual water immoral.
I'll keep my water rates, thanks0 -
Good debate going already. Lets see what happens anyone else got any more comments? Officially Debt Free Nov 2012 :beer:0

There's 2 of us in a one bed flat. I was paying £150 yearly 8 years ago - today on a water meter I'm only paying £144. I've just shredded my Mom's water rates bill (she's not on a meter) and that was for £246 yearly, she lives alone in a one bed bungalow. BUT in my first year in the property I only paid £60 for that year, then it slowly went up to £96, £120, £144. They did try to tell me that it was £162 but I emailed them and told them that I'd watched Panorama0
