just wanted to say you are not "simply mad" you are SIMPLY AMAZING for coping with everthing that has happened.
(Sorry of no practicle help tho)
Thanks for you kind words. And welcome to the site, its fab here0 -
Hey - you are welcome. 2 teenage sons - gosh you do have your work cut out for you. Spuds, pasta anything filling then? I appreciate this must be very hard.
The other suggestions would be, cash back sites, pigsback for clicks, TNS are not bad for surveys and give nectar points which could ease christmas and birthdays a little. It is horrible being constantly skint, I do know.
Can the kids get a job for a few hours a week? Just to give themselves some spending money and to take the pressure off yourself a bit. I'm not saying you give them pocket money, but if they can afford to buy their own DVD's etc, you might not feel so bad?
Are they at college? Do they get EMA? If they are they should get the maximum which I think is £30 a week.
EM xx
I am SICK of wetting myself with excitement when there's maris pipers in the value bags lol Yes tones of pasta and spuds, protein is hard tho, most sources aint alf dear for me.
The kids are still in school. One is 15 (16 at the end of the year) and the other is 13 and plays tooooo much rugby + footie and eats like a gannet. The oldest one is very studious, so he keeps the costs down ha ha ha
They are brilliant savers, although I didn't know why I was the way I was for years I KNEW I didn't want them ending up like me, so I have always had the rule save half spend half. Other than essentials they cost me very little. Once in a while I will treat them to orange Wednesdays but more often than not they pay for themselves bless them. As a 'salary' for all the work they do in the house to help me stay well etc I got them contract mobile phones, well when this all went pear shaped over Christmas I broke the news that thei contracts had to go and they were so good about it, it broke my heart, it really did.
Surveys, yes that's a good one, I am with one company and I am on £10 something, when I get to £40 I can get it out, so I will sign up for more. A lot of them seem to be points though, do points mean cash eventually or do they do a brucey and end up as prizes?0 -

Oh your kids sound great they really do, bless them - I know what you mean about the rugby player though. My nephew plays and I collect him once a month after he's played on a Sunday and the size of the dinner he eats is HUGE - my hubby joking keeps saying that he's going to charge my brother for his dinner 'cos he can eat more than him, and that's no mean feat :rotfl:
TNS is good because the points are converted to nectar points which can be used at places like Argos and Sainsburys etc and sometimes they do on-line sales where you can get all sorts of stuff. So not completely Bruciefied can be put to something "real".
EM xxYou can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation.
PlatoMake £2018 in 2018 no. 37 - total = £1626.25/£2018 :j

Sadly I cant claim, I am simply mad and madness is not critical I'm afraid, although when the downers come they seem pretty critical to me :-(
Don't you just love that?! I disclosed EVERYTHING about my past to my insurer and they still decided to cover me. Even with the self harm etc...
Weird.
Oh well...it was an idea!;)I am not a complete idiot - some parts are missing;)0 -

Wow, thats really good.
I am a member of the manic depression fellowship and they have an insurance advisor and he couldn't get me insurance cover with anyone never mind reduce the costs, they loaded my premium back in th days I took it out when I had a diagnosis of depression(before the bipolar diagnosis) thats why its so high per month.
Mind you with approx 1 in 5 people with bipolar disorder committing suicide I guess were are deemed high risk0 -

It knocks me sick, because instead of thinking how to help people like us...these companies either want to cash in or drop you!
As I said, I'm 100% with you;)I am not a complete idiot - some parts are missing;)0 -

I feel for you hunni, you are in one of the rubbish situations where each way you turn there is something to beat you down, I think there are holes in the benefit system, you get DLA yet cant get morgage help, if you rented I bet you could get help. Just hang in there, I am sure that life experiences such as yours are put upon us for a reason, you will get through this, good luck and keep posting there is loads of support here,Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!0

Thanks hun.
Its all a bit mad isnt it, sorry no pun intended lol
I wish I could get rid of the house, but if I sell I have made myself intentionally homeless, so no council house, if it goes to repossession it will sell for next to nothing and I end up in a real drug haven dump with bipolar disorder, no one will give me a mortgage to go to a cheaper place and even if they did after paying the creditors the £36000 I would still need approx £70k on mortgage, its £115k now. Private rent is no cheaper than the £558 I am paying now, in fact if someone would even take us on it would more.
And I cant stop sneezing and have a sore throat, a cold is just what I need - can you tell I am feeling sorry for myself lol0 -
Just bumping this up to see if anyone knows anything bout debts being written off on the grounds of insanity, Shelter suggested I at least ask + I have an appointment with my shrink soon.0
