Refund policy for voucher purchases.

Hi there, I was just wondering if anyone knows the answer to this query.

I bought a deep-fat fryer just after christmas with some high street vouchers I had left over from pressie buying and it has now stopped working and I want to return it under the 12 month guarantee, but I was wondering how I will be refunded.

I don't want to get the same one again (partly because I don't trust it and also because I've seen another one somewhere else that's cheaper), so what I want to know is will I be forced to take argos vouchers as a refund, get a replacement deep-fat fryer or can I get a cash refund to use elsewhere even though I used high street vouchers to pay for it.

Sorry for the long, confusing post lol!!:o

  • they don't HAVE to refund or replace - they can (if it would be cheaper for them) offer to repair it under warranty.

if they do refund, they are entitled to give you vouchers and not cash, as that was the original method of payment.

Hiya, does this apply even though the item is only 5 weeks old.
I checked my receipt and it was bought on the 18th January, which will be exactly 5 weeks tomorrow - it's not exactly had a great deal of use!
Thanks for your reply so far:A

yep. i think they usually say 28 days for a refund - you've gone past that.

    NOT CONFUSING!

    hi,
i have always found argos to be very good at replacing faulty items, even those used for a while, just give it a good clean so it doesn't look like you've over used it (like mine sometimes look:o) and as long as you have your reciept they'll almost certainly replace it for another of your choice. they'll put any change or refund on an argos card.:D
