Just wanted to warn people off using Littlewoods.

Out of desperation (and stupidity with a bit of boredom/impatience thrown in) i decided to order one through them the other day, even though delivery was quoted as "within 10 weeks".. i figured i'd just give my husband the receipt as an IOU for his birthday present (Wife of the Year - not!)

Used a discount code (prior to reading about problems with discount codes and Littlewoods) and got it from £79 to £54. All looked fine on screen, emailed confirmation etc. However on checking my bank account i'd been charged the full £79. Then followed some very interesting - and highly unprofessional, bordering on comical - emails with their "customer services", the first one telling me "it has been sorted" (whatever sorted means!) i replied to say it hadn't been, then received another reply telling me i would receive the £25 discount back into my account when the product has arrived at my delivery address (alarm bells ringing by now...how unprofessional is that..there wasn't a cat in hells chance they were going to reimburse me in 10+ weeks time was there!?), then i replied to tell them that it was not acceptable for them to not honour the price quoted when i purchased it, and wait 10 weeks til i could attempt to sort it out AGAIN, or i wouldn't have bothered if i knew it was going to be this much of a ridiculous process! They then replied again, to say that upon "looking into it" they've found i wasn't entitled to the discount anyway. I have now been forced to cancel my order. If i actually receive this refund, i'll eat my hat.

I am shocked at how utterly unprofessional one supposedly large company can be!

Back to the wii play stock checkers for me *sigh*

Amazon had stock in for all of one minute at 11:25 this morning. I am beginning to think people out there use automated checkout scripts to buy big stock and sell on EBAY. Toys R Us had stock in on Saturday morning at around 04:00 for about 2 mins... surely not many people up and about that time of the mornig checking stock!???

Littlewoods always charge the full amount then refund the discount. I just used the open an account option and my account balance is now £54. Just pay in full when the bill comes in.

i was lucky. I was quick enough, and luckily remembered my username/password. It says I have one, I have printed the page, but I'll believe it when they confirm the order.

For all who are still looking, I'd definitely recommend one of the real time stock checkers. Invaluable, and who cares if a little bit of referral fee goes to the stock checker's site owners pockets? I saved myself a lot of headache by using that tool so :T (*)

(*) note, all the above smug comments only apply if John Lewis confirm my order. If they don't then I'm back in the queue like everyone else :(
  • But surely if I got as far as filling in my card details then it should be mine? I was at checkout at 4.21, that's a whole FOUR minutes before it sold out according to wii fit frenzy :(

I wouldn't mind as I have one, but this a present for my MIL

i would say keep looking and keep the faith in the stock checkers. Search for 'Wii fit stock checker' on Google and use the first one on the results page , if you don't already do so.
  • I have 2 different stock checkers on all the time, that's how I got my wii last year as well through Amazon.
