If the Op wasn't aware of the rules, how can they be able to learn from there mistakes? Its a comp it therefore belongs in the comp forum, if its car problem it belongs in motoring section, I assume you get the message, it isnt hard now to figure it out but people keep posting in grabbit when it clearly aint a bargain.

i dunno about waiting to pounce, i've seen some really bad, rude and aggressive repsonses to threads posted in the wrong place, but i can't see the harm in butlers giving someone a nudge in the right direction

You are right sometimes there can be rude/aggressive responses but it just bugs me when it's the same ones every time giving someone a 'telling off'. I was under the impression that is what the Board Guides are for?

I don't think BG's are there for 'telling off' (well, most of them aren't!). If someone wants to help the boards run more smoothly, where is the problem in that?
