Council Tax Banding

Hi there

i have been looking into the council banding thing and im not sure if i am in the correct one.

i live on a housing estate build in 1995 and theres a few houses the same one other in my close and at least 3 others around other closes.

i am on a band C but looking at th VOA website 3 houses are on band B but the houses are all the same inside.

should i looking to getting mine changed??

    My house was built around that time too. You will probably find that the prices that the houses sold for were clustered around the estimated start of one band and the end of another and that some houses sold for slightly more, resulting in their being put in a higher band.

    Yours sounds a reasonable case, but you will need to to some additional research to identify what the other houses sold for (you can often check this from the sales ads in the local papers from 1995 - new estates have loads of promotional ads). In addition you will need to benchmark that against similar new properties from early 1991.

    Please look at the main thread on Council Tax advise as this topic has been covered many times and there are plenty of good tips for people in your situation.
    Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.
