I need to change my bank account and would prefer to use one of the High Street Bank due to problems with internet banking but I do not have a brilliant credit rating anyone know which bank is more lenient on opening accounts for people in debt?

Well my rating is not great and I went with the NatWest Step account... I get a Solo Card and can manage my account online and through my local branch ( I wanted a bank that had a branch close by) I have been running it since last July and Im quite happy with it.....BOI Credit Card = Was £3500.00 Now £0.00
GE Capital Store Card= Was £1800.00 Now £0.00
GE Capital Store Card = Was 1300.00 Now £0.00
Credit Union Savings Now £200.00 :T0 -
Hi Holley
If you use the following link Basic Bank Accounts, and in the Basic bank accounts section click on publications it will provide you with a list of accounts and what benefits the account offers.
Be sure that the account has no connection to any of your existing creditors though.
Hope this is helpful

Hiya
I agree with Grace.
The step account from Natwest is brill. Great for keeping track of everything (no od facility so no debt Hurrah) you can still do all the usual banking (D/D, internet etc) the only downside is no cheque book.
Would recommend this account as i have terrible credit rating
and they accepted me!!
