DRIVING EXPERIENCE DAY wanted

My hubby is going to be 40 in the near future and after some time of pestering to find out what he wanted to do to celebrate reaching this marvelous age, he has let slip he would enjoy a driving activity day. We live in Essex so ideally I would be looking at doing the day, at most, a couple of hours drive away. It would probably become a more stressful day if there was a lot of travelling involved due to our delightful 3 daughters who will be in tow. Money is a factor but I do want him to have a truely memorable experience so the purse strings could be loosened. Value for money is more important factor. I simply wondered whether anyone had done something similar or had any valueable suggestions that would help in my search. He also enjoys theme parks so if the experience day is near a theme park we could extend the pleasure.
I would really appreciate suggestions as I really don't know where to start.

If you're got some Tesco clubcard points vouchers knocking about there are clubcard deals for some "driving fast car" type experiences. I don't know how many you would need, but it might be worth loking at their website.

Many thanks to your contributions and ideas one noones perfect and mum2one. I have eventually plumped for a ferreri/lamborginni experience with everyman driving experiences via tesco clubcard. Went with them as I thought I could almost pay with the tesco clubcard vouchers. I had forgotton that I had used some of my stock to pay for ferry crossing to france for family holiday. Wondered did anyone know whether if I were to purchase vouchers on ebay and have sellers change them up on my behalf whether the deals would arrive with the orginal sellers name on or not because obviously if the deals didn't have my name on they may be stopped going through as tesco seem to be cracking down on this, according to other threads.
And the saga continues ....0 -
tesco are really clamping down on the clubcard side of things, think its from May this yr, they will only issue actual vouchers to the named person, at the mo some of the offers you can use they will issue vouchers in another persons name.
I would check out all avenues, as its a lot to lose if they dont change the voucher, I know its a long shot but if you contact the company that offers the drive, explain that they came up via Tesco (bit of flattery goes a long way!), and ask if they do part vouchers remainder in cash, if thats possible I would go down that route rather than the buying off ebay.
Dare I ask how much there priced at? xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Jut found this thread - not sure if you have organised anything yet.
After lots if browsing the web (there are so many sites that sell this kind of thing!) i found that trackdays.co.uk were the cheapest and offered a nice little voucher pack at no extra cost.
I ended up getting the Audi R8 driving experience at £99 and my son still talks about it now 6months on!

This Rally Driving Experience is outstanding value for money, minimal classroom time and maximum driving time :T
This experience is one of a few that actually have recognised and qualified instructors, James Wozencroft 2 x British Rally Champion will be sat at your side pushing you to your limits.
The cars are Subaru Impreza's and as this is a Rally Experience you are encouraged to slide the cars, so be prepared for a hands on true insight to the world of rallying.
Advice !! When booking this type of experience always check with the supplier that insurance is included, many experiences offer an additional insurance on the day to cover damage to vehicles, this can range from £30 - £45,
INSURANCE IS INCLUDED IN THIS EXPERIENCE, the price you pay for the course includes everything (including lunch !)

I was bought a Aston Martin experience day, a Bungee jump and a Segway challenge, I love the experience days so much that I set up my own website that compares prices.
experience-day-gift.co.uk
You should be able to find experiences from Virgin, Buyagift and Red letter days on there.0
