He will get a pension at 65 which is wonderful however...he also has a gratuity...its worth around 15k.
If he became to ill to work he could draw on it now...however thank goodness hes fine...I am disabled unable to work so he enquired if it could be released..someone we spoke to didnt seem to know a great deal but said no i wouldnt think so...
Its just in this day and age with the way things have changed within the forces we wouldnt if theres anyway around it...

Pension age of 65 implies he's on the new AFPS05 sceme & didn't serve long enough to get an immediate pension on leaving. As such the lump sum gratuity can only be accessed at the same time as the pension.0

.... which currently is 50 at the earliest though thats set to alter to 55. So getting the benefits out depends on his age now.0

Thanks for for the replies.
My husband is 45 and served for 13 years.
It was the part that says he could have it early if he became ill and unable to work...but in this case its me and wondered with me being his wife it applied to me also,
thanks0 -
No it doesnt apply sorry. Although your expected to pick up a gun and join the next Home Gaurd though regardless of your health,
