CCCS Question....

Evening all
Does anyone know what I need in front of me when I make my first call the the CCCS tomorrow? Am very nervous.

Hi

I called them last week and they just took down my contact details and an estimate of the amount outstanding and gave me an appointment which was for today. They emailed me the inf pack (but can post it) and I had to fill in two sheets before my meeting today. The first was a list of all my debts and outstanding balances. The second sheet was a budget form which they went through with me today.

Try not to be nervous they are really nice and non judgemental.

I have now made three payments to CCCS! Some of my creditors are still charging interest and CCCS suggest writing to them to ask for a stop. has anyone done this with success and is there a sample letter out there which I could use to write my letter please? Many thanks

It does often take time for creditors to stop interest on a DMP. I've been on a DMP with CCCS since March and some creditors are just agreeing to freeze interest now. I think it's just a question of being patient. Some of my debts have been passed to DCA's who have agreed to freeze interest and charges so it may be worth waiting a little while longer and see what happens.

Hi,

I have just rang them today after receiving advice from others on this forum.
They were really friendly, non-judgemental, good listeners and very supportive. All you need is general info and then they book an appointment to ring you back after you have completed a few forms.
Go for it - it is the best thing I have done in a long time. I feel positive about my future for the first time in a long time and feel I have got great support from the CCCS and also from everyone on this forum.

We made our first payment with CCCS this month ! They are fantastic and I am now able to sleep at night as I know there is light at the end of the tunnel ! 7 year long tunnel but we will get there .

Have you managed to ring the CCCS yet?

I took the plunge today to ring my mortgage company about my arrears £2456 only after having loads of support from everyone here last night did I get the confidence to do it. And it wasn't that bad after all - just got to pay them now!
