it was bang on correct for me .

Can I spoil it for ya? I bet every time you will get the symbol that is next to 18 for example. all the numbers with this symbol are the only possible outcomes.

I am afraid you did! It is quite a clever and "happy" little trick, and if you do the maths correctly cannot possibly be wrong.

The answer you arrive it will always be a multiple of 9 (ie 9, 18, 27, 36, 45 etc etc) and all of those are the same symbol.

Aha - what I didn't get was how the symbols changed each time - I didn't realise they were changing the one next to 18 each time.
