what can you do? is there any alternative apart from making a payment agreement with them? this is non-council tax btw. My Parents are in Debt and I don't even know where to start to help them. They've already had £2000 off me which were my savings and not to mention other money, but I can't give them anymore, I am 23 and I still live at home and my wage is around £400 a month, I'm trying to get another job but it's not easy when theres non available, not without needing experience etc. I had to take out a £2000 loan last year with my bank which is being paid off monthly, so £183 of my low wage is going on that until October and I am struggling on the money I have left. I took that out to clear the outstanding council tax bills they owed because I knew that had to be paid. Their over draft limit is £500 but has now gone upto -£800 mainly cos of the damn Bank charges  and I don't know how they're gonna get out of that, my dads going to talk to them on Friday but they already have a £3000 loan with them cos of a previous overdraft problem. My mom also owes money for gods knows what, I found out from my brother that she is now paying £100 a month after a debt got passed onto bailiffs which is £500, but I don't know where she's gonna get the money for that from. How do you stop debts being passed onto Bailiffs and How to get out of debt. I don't even know where to start to try and help them.

You say it's not for Council tax but they do owe Council tax and your Mom owes money for God knows what! Are these private bailiffs? Do you think it might be Council Tax?
Anyway, stop throwing money at your parents and drag them to the local CAB as soon as possible. This is a mess that they need to sort and you using your savings to pay them is clearly not even dealing with the symptoms, let alone the underlying problem.
Sorry, does that sound a bit harsh?0 -

I hate to say this but you need to stop bailing your parents out. All your doing is helping them put off facing up to the problem. They're adult and they shouldn't be relying on you to pay off their debts.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

how do you go about making token payments? can't companies still take action against you if you aren't making repayments.Halifax-Limit-£500-Balance-£0

They can, but if you provide the company with a financial statement to show that this is all you can afford then they will often see that there is no point taking it to court.
If something does go to court then they have to talk to the court and follow the correct procedures. If they do this they can get the court to make an "instalment order" for them to pay the debt back at a rate they can genuinely afford. If they can genuinely afford nothing then the court can even set a payment at £1 per month! While you are paying what is required under an 'instalment order', the creditor cannot apply to use bailiffs.
Bailiffs only ever get involved if you don't communicate with the court and pay what the court decides.
If they go to CAB then they will help them sort it out so that it doesn't get as far as bailiffs again.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
