if you are on a together product the lower rate won't be applied until jan 2009... many complain about this being sly and a rip off but seem to forget when/if rates increase you get the benefit of that "extra" month on the lower rate.0

I am on a fixed interest rate of 5.99% it is supposed to be a 5 year deal but northern rock have sent me something to say it is ending in Janurary rather than June has anyone else had them end their deak early
the deal hasn't ended early.
the deal is fixed until a set date, so although you have a 5 year fixed it doesn't mean your actually mortgage will be fixed for 5 years at that rate
if the product became available jan 2003 then it would expire jan 2008... if you took this deal in june 2003 then you would have missed out on months: jan to june0 -

I also received the letter this morning confirming our fixed deal will end on 1st March next year and we'll be move to a rate lower than their SVR! Great news indeed as I didn't realise that was how our deal would work.
Does anyone have any idea how far below the SVR?0 -

A mind-boggline 0.01% below SVR :rotfl:
Nothing to get too excited about - for me works out at about £1 a month!!0 -

Hi,
I Have noticed that every statement we get form NR (once every 3moth) they add £1 to to the capital... so my capital is growing by £4 a year...i have spoken to NR on the phone and as you would expect they tried to bxxxshxt there way but then i spoke to a senior addviser and she still has no idea why but will look in to it.
Has any one els noticed that £1 added every statement??0 -

are you on interest only?
is it exactly a pound or does it vary?0 -
Currently on 5.89% ending Jan 1st 2009
Going on to 5.84% SVR
It doesn't seem like much but rang the Rock anyway to ask what the new payment would roughly be and I was told it would be £3 a month more than what we are paying now. Ummm...confuzzled!
They said it was because we had added the product fee to the mortgage when we took it out.
Is that right?English by birth. GEORDIE by the grace of God.0 -
Yes that will be right. Payments are calculated on the actual mortgage you took and not the mortgage plus fees.
Have them recalculated and this will prevent any further balance increases0
