Hiya NR have been hassling you to go into anther fixed rate with them, are you already a customer?, as I am and my fixed rate finished next month and as far as they have told me there arent offering any new deals for existing customers which is why ive been having sleepless nights and worrying myself silly.....so im amazed if you have been offered something, unless im reading you wrong.

hi angelx,
about two months before my fixed rate was due to finish NR wrote me the standard letter saying how much they predicted i would have to pay on SVR. along with this letter was an offer for me to go onto another fixed rate but not with NR with C&G. i got all of the paperwork through but decided not to make a decision immediately. epecially when after talking to NR i discovered that it would in effect be a totally new mortgage i was applying for with C&G. NR said that this was what they recommended and they would help me through the process.
so, no it is not a new deal with NR for an existing customer it is just that they have entered into an agreement with C&G but they would be dealing with the paperwork on my behalf...
thank goodness i didn't go for it!!!!!
loki xit's nice to be important but more important to be nice!! :kisses3:0 -
Oh my goodness!!! I've only just heard about the cut.
I had caught on the news that the cut was 1.5% but hadn't heard the update that NR were passing it on. I have a 3yr old daughter and a 7mth old son, so I don't get a chance to keep up with the news as much as I like to.
I am sitting here crying with relief.
We are going onto the SVR in Feb 2009 and although our mortgage payment would only have went up by £100 or so, that is £100 that I am currently using to clear our debts. I've been following all the MoneySaving advice from here and was so worried.. I've been feeling sick about it for months now.
I am just so relieved to hear this.. I will be able to sleep at night now!
Thank you for all the updates everyone. It really means a lot to people like me who can't usually hear the news over the noise of a teething baby and a tantrumming toddler..lol.DFW Official Nerd Club #1114

I have tried to get another mortgage but have no chance as my income on paper is not what I actually earn being self employed,
You can use your tax returns to show your SE income....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Mr. GB who apparently loses sleep worrying that people might lose their homes!
I genuinely believe he has sleepless nights at the idea of a "hard-working family" being chucked out of no. 10, Downing Street.......much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
anyone know where i can find out how much my mortgage will reduce too?0

I sympathise with your situation entirely as I have a number of clients in exactly the same boat at the moment, but you do have a bit of time on your side. Following last week's rate drop rates should now finally start to stabilise meaning that there will potentially be a number of options available to you come Janurary. The main element in finding something to fit your current scenario and circumstances is going to be ascertaining the current loan-to-value ration (ie. the outstanding mortgage amount as a proportion of the value of your property) - do you have a vague idea of what this might currently be?0
