Not sure if this is an unbeatable deal (probably isnt knowing you lot ) but ALDI are selling water filter cartridges for £1.49 from 28/07/05. A little birdie swears blind they are universal and since they cost £3 a pop at boots... well, you do the math

Yes, Macro prices exclude VAT and you need a trade card to shop there.

This is a good price but are they OK? Not too happy about buying non name filters.

I normally get my filters from Robert Dyas who are very good when on offer. At the moment they have Kenwood Universal (fit brita) at 6 for £9.99 which is £1.66 each.

I've got one of these in my brita jug & in my opinion it just doesn't do a good job. The water doesn't taste like it has been treated at all, and seems to go stale really quickly. I'm no aldi basher (I do my main shop there) but I won't be using one of these filter cartridges again in a hurry.
