Not collected

I bought something last summer which was faulty. I got an immediate refund and was told the goods would be collected as it is a large item. Snce then I have heard no more and the goods have not been collected. I have heard that after 6 months then the item is legally mine, is this correct?
Thanks for any advice.

Done a quick search of the site as I was sure I'd read about this somewhere on here lately. I found this link courtesy of superscaper.

No time scales are really mentioned but it seems you must send them 2 notices stating collection dates.
