I'm talking about the ones run by HMRC.
I'm attending one tomorrow and am not sure what to expect. They were supposed to post me out information before the event but it's been "lost" in the post.

This is of absolutely no help to you, but I piloted these events in Cambridge in the 1990's. Our aim was to get people to keep proper records from day one and to fill out their returns on time....plus my colleague used to warn them of the dangers of cash!
I expect they are much slicker affiars now with a script written by someone at HO. I'm sure it will be useful, if only to make you aware of what HMRC expects from you.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0 -
I have been on 2 workshops recently called
Becoming self-employed
and
SA for the self-employed
They were very usefull but obviously geared to advise you on your record keeping responsibilities. The second course was very informative with regard to the various expenses and capital allowances which can be set against self-employed income. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
