I feel great!

Just had a mortgage advisor round to discuss my remortgage. Told him about my debts in the course of the monthly outgoings conversation and he said the best thing would be for me to consolidate the debt and add it to my new mortage

I told him about snowballing, and how my debt was slowly but surely coming down and he took the whatsthecost website address so he could have a look at it, and use it in the future to advise other clients!

It felt so good that for the first time in my life, aged 37, I actually knew what he was talking about and could talk about it knowledgeably, and on top of that may have even helped someone else in the future. Usually I just act all dumb (who am I kidding, it wasn't acting in the past!) and do whatever they tell me to do, with little or no understanding of what they're advising me. Never again after reading so much on MSE. God bless MSE, and god bless Martin Lewis!! :money: :money: :money: :money:

Good that he may spread the wprd about snowballing, rather than lump it all onto your mortgage.....does he work on commission basis tho, as he may not tell anyone?

Or why they're advising you. If he was operating on a percentage basis, some of your transferred debt would have slipped nicely into his pocket.

i told our mortgage advisor about quidco! he was trying to sign us up for home insurance, i said that he won't be able to beat what we're paying and give us £65 quid too.
first he looked at me like i was mental, then i explained quidco and he was amazed. i have so far got three other people in my room at work signed up to it - there are only 5 of us in total.
    quidco should give referral fees.

god that makes me sooooo mad!!! how on earth can you consider yourself to be providing best advice to clients like that!!! grrrr soap box alert! what about FSA regulation what about working out costs what about securing a 3 year debt to a 20 something year debt!!!

Good for you hon for not following blindly along with it and making him more aware of things. :T
