Hi
Ive never cooked a crumble and I think I might give it a try later on. Basically I bodged up at the weekend and made some biscuits slightly overcooked so I broke them up taking out the burnt bits. I have an eating apple (royal gala) that needs using and wondered if I could whip up an easy srumble with it?
I dont like my apples too mushy though and obviously I dont want to burn it so how do I get the apple cooked and use up my broken flapjacky biscuits?
Thanks

You could always use the biscuits as a base for a tarte tartin and use your eating apples for topping.
If you have your heart set on crumble, eating apples don't tend to go as mushy as cooking apples anyway. Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

So how would I make a tarte tatin like that then? Could I make little mini ones in ramekins?
Sounds good so some kind of recipe would be great if you can give me one
Thanks:D0 -
You could google tarte tatin but the recipes I saw look awfully complicated and if you only have one dessert apple its not going to make more than one little ramekin full.... I think I would just slice the apple thinly in the bottom of a small dish a small sprinkle of sugar and cinammon, cover with the crushed biscuits dotted with butter and sugar and bake for 20 mins...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

This one could work. Sticky toffee apple pudding on a biscuit base.
