Two pensions?
rosy
My husband currently contributes to the local govt pension scheme with his main job. He also lectures part time ( just a few hours per week) - would there be any disadvantages in him starting a teacher's pension for this second job? It's not guaranteed to be long term but it might be, but it would always probably just be three or four hours a week. He pays 40% tax on his main job and straight basic rate on the second ( the extra tax due is sorted via a reduction in his personal allowance for his main job). What would the tax situation be on the second pension? Thanks.
